Some would say that the best part of waking up is having a nice cup of coffee, whether it be an old-fashioned mug of steaming hot drip, an iced version of the beverage or something else entirely.
That mantra rings especially true in states like Kansas that score well when it comes to coffee-related subjects, including the fact that the Sunflower State has the third-cheapest Joe in America, at $2.59 per cup on average.
BetKansas.com wanted to know what states love coffee the most, based on coffee shops per capita, search interest scores for “local coffee shops,” and average coffee price. So before you pour a nice cup of java and peruse some Kansas betting apps tomorrow morning, see where the state came in on our rankings.

The combination of Kansas’ extraordinarily cheap coffee prices, combined with the Sunflower State’s standing in terms of coffee shops per capita (29th nationally) and the state’s search interest score surrounding the caffeine-laden beverage, netted it the third spot on our list.
Overall, Kansas residents scored the third most points of any state between those three metrics, at 107, ranking behind Hawaii (151 points) and Florida (127 points) and ahead of No. 4 Iowa (100 points) and No. 5 Oklahoma (98 points).
Hawaii was bolstered by having the most coffee shops per capita in America, at 2,559, while Florida scored well in terms of search interest to overcome having the eighth most expensive coffee in America ($3.38) and the 32nd most coffee shops per capita (6,428).
Rounding out the national top 10 when it came to interest in coffee were states like Wisconsin (97 total score), Arkansas (94 total score), Colorado (93 total score), Montana (92 total score) and Oregon (91 total score).
None of those states could match Kansas’ interest in coffee however, with the Sunflower State’s 1-2 combo of cheap cups of Joe and strong search interest online powering the region to the No. 3 spot nationally.
