Year Five of the Chris Klieman era in Manhattan is one brimming with expectations and hope, as Kansas State looks to build off its Big 12 title a season ago.
The Wildcats became favorites of sports betting in Kansas by posting a 10-4 record in 2022, notching the program’s first double-digit win season since going 11-2 in 2012 under legendary coach Bill Snyder.
This fall, Kansas State faces the heavy burden of expectation, with oddsmakers listing the Wildcats among the favorites to either reach or win the Big 12 title game in 2023.
BetMGM Kansas, for instance, has KSU at +300 to make the conference title game in Arlington — ranking third, behind Texas (-250) and Oklahoma (+100).
That road to AT&T Stadium begins against Southeast Missouri on Sept. 2 at Bill Snyder Stadium, with two other non-conference games against Troy (at home) and Missouri in Columbia.
Kansas State’s odds are slightly longer but equally impressive at Caesars Sportsbook Kansas, where oddsmakers have the Wildcats at +700 to win the Big 12 (ranking behind Texas at -110 and Oklahoma at +350).

Kansas State Regular Season Record Odds
Optimism High for K-State Football
Given the Wildcats’ preseason win total over/under of 7.5, it’s likely of little surprise we see Kansas State hewing closely to that figure.
K-State’s best year-end record odds are 8-4 (+275) and 9-3 (+315), with those results eking out the top spot ahead of 10-2 (+400), 7-5 (+500) and 11-1 (+750).
Given Klieman’s five-year win percentage (.600), it’s safe to assume the Wildcats will likely clear seven wins in 2023, with much of the team’s fate resting on how well they play against Missouri in Week 3. You can use Kansas sports betting promo codes to get a deal on those over/under odds if you feel confident.
With a win over the Tigers on the road, the Wildcats would be 3-0 entering Big 12 play, setting up an opening conference stretch that includes home games against UCF and TCU (on Oct. 21), offset by consecutive road showdowns against Oklahoma State (on Oct. 6) and Texas Tech (on Oct. 14).
With some good luck and solid football, K-State could enter that final stretch of the year in the driver’s seat to capture the program’s second straight Big 12 title.
