Mahomes-Led Chiefs’ Bettors Would Have Won Over $2,500 Since 2017

Mahomes-Led Chiefs’ Bettors Would Have Won Over $2,500 Since 2017
Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

Betting on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs has been highly profitable since he entered the league. As a starting quarterback in the NFL, Mahomes has a career record of 50-13 with four straight seasons of making the AFC Championship Game.

So how much money would bettors have won if they simply bet on Mahomes each game and took all available futures bets on the Chiefs? The answer? A lot. And those wagering on Mahomes at the best Kansas sportsbooks when they launch Sept. 1 should look forward to counting some winnings.

According to Bookies.com, Mahomes’ career record against the spread is 41-31-2 for a win percentage of 55.4.

Assuming you made a $100 bet on each game and the average odds were -110, bettors would be up $626.90 just by betting on Mahomes and the Chiefs to cover the spread. That in itself is a highly impressive number. But that’s not where it ends.

Betting Mahomes on the Moneyline

So that’s the spread. But what about straight up? What if you just put $100 on the Chiefs to win every week with Mahomes under center? Would you still be ahead?

Yes, yes, you would. Here is the breakdown of how much you would have won (or lost) every year by just betting on the Chiefs' moneyline each week:

2017: +$145
2018: +$185.70
2019: +$418.63
2020: +$315.81
2021: -$77.87

The total amount you would have won betting on Mahomes and the Chiefs weekly on the moneyline is $987.35 on bets of $100. While this type of betting is usually risky considering the low payouts for good teams like the Chiefs, players would have seen their bankroll increase by nine times. That’s a pretty good payout over the last four full NFL seasons.

Bettors will also be able to take advantage of BetMGM Kansas bonus codes, allowing them some low-risk wagers on Mahomes and the Chiefs when Kansas launches in time for the start of the NFL season.

If you wagered on the Chiefs to cover the spread and win outright every week, bettors would be up $1,625.25. So not only has Mahomes been fantastic against the spread, but he has also helped players build their bankroll.

Did Futures Bets Also Pay Off?

But what about futures bets? The Chiefs have been perennial favorites since Mahomes became the starting quarterback, so surely players haven't made much money there, right? Wrong. If you were to have wagered on the Chiefs to win the AFC West every year since 2018 ($100 bet), players would be up $386.36. And remember, most years, the Chiefs have been clear-cut favorites in the division!

But what about just making the playoffs? Most years, their odds have been between -600 or -650 to make the playoffs. If you were to have wagered $100 on them just to make the tournament every year, you would be up $182.22. The Chiefs and Mahomes are sure to be popular on Kansas betting apps.

Now, what about winning the AFC? In most years, they have been a huge favorite to win the AFC and have done so twice in the past four seasons. So how much would you be up if you bet on them ($100) to win the conference yearly?

Believe it or not, you still would have a profit of $250. And if you were to wager on them to win the Super Bowl every year, you would still be up $300 after their 2019 Super Bowl win (+600).

Mahomes & Chiefs A Winning Combination

Needless to say, betting on Mahomes and the Chiefs has been a winning proposition. And with Mahomes entering the prime of his career with a hopefully improved defense, there is no reason to expect anything to change anytime soon.

So continue to reap the benefits of betting on the Chiefs to win and to win big.

Also, be sure to be on the lookout for Caesars Sportsbook Kansas promo codes to take advantage of Mahomes and the Chiefs.
