The fifth season of the Hunter Dickinson experience in the college basketball world has seen the 7’1 center from Northern Virginia put up his typically impressive stats, with the veteran frontcourt presence averaging 16.3 points and 9.6 rebounds for the Kansas Jayhawks this season.
The fifth-year senior has now racked up a player efficiency rating of 27.2, with 24.3 win shares across 149 NCAA games with KU and Michigan, twice receiving consensus All-American honors from some of the nation’s leading hardwood experts, while ranking 53rd all time on the NCAA’s scoring list.
For now, Dickinson and the Jayhawks are tasked with taking care of business against KU’s Sunflower State rivals from Manhattan, with a showdown against Kansas State inside the “Octagon of Doom” on Saturday afternoon, with the game tipping off at 1 p.m. Central time across Kansas sports betting.
Dickinson currently sits at 53rd with 2,567 points – with nine games left and his average of 16.3 PPG this season, which inspired us at BetKansas.com to break down where we see the super senior from Kansas finishing when the regular season wraps up in Lawrence.

For now, we’re giving Dickinson the best odds of placing 26th all-time on the NCAA’s leaderboard, scoring wise, with the veteran big man needing 141 points over nine games (or 15.7 PPG) to reach that mark, while he also has +600 odds of climbing all the way to 25th on the leaderboard if he can score 153 points down the stretch, which averages out to 17 points per game.
So far this season, Dickinson has averaged just under that higher mark this season, which is why we have faith that he’ll do enough to reach that high on the NCAA scoring list, knocking off guys like BYU’s Tyler Haws (who ranks 25th all time currently) or Northeastern’s Reggie Lewis (who sits 26th all time currently).
We’re also giving Dickinson slightly better odds (+475) of climbing past Haws entirely by matching Hank Gathers’ career total of 2,723 points at Loyola Marymount University for 24th all time on the NCAA leaderboard, as the fifth year senior needs 156 points (or 17.3 PPG) to hit that mark.
For now, Dickinson and the Jayhawks are likely focused on taking care of the on-court business in front of them, with the always heated KU vs. K-State rivalry picking up where it left off in the Little Apple on Saturday afternoon on national television.
